The timeline


The application period opens in early November and closes on February 28. Make sure your on-line application is complete and that all sets of supporting documents have been sent to your provincial or territorial coordinator prior to the February 28 deadline.


You will receive a letter indicating either that you have been selected for an interview or that you did not meet the eligibility criteria. The letter will be sent either to the temporary address (September to April) on your application form, or to your permanent address if you do not have a temporary one, or by e-mail. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified of its date and location.


After your interview, you will receive a letter indicating whether you have been selected. If you have been selected, your application will be sent to the coordinator of the province to which you will be assigned, and he or she will contact you.


You will receive a letter at the address you have indicated on your application, indicating the status of your application.

If you have been selected for the program, you will receive information about your placement. If your name is on a waiting list, the coordinator of the province to which you could be assigned will get in touch with you if a position becomes available.

If you are selected, you need to confirm your participation. If you are no longer interested, please let your coordinator know as soon as possible!

Important: Don’t delay in accepting the offer of a position. If you do not confirm your acceptance, you could lose your place to another candidate.

As soon as you are told where you will be working, you can contact the language-assistant supervisor or the coordinator in your host province in order to obtain more information about your workplace.
